There's an Alligator Out There!!!!

That was Tessie. She came in from the back yard yelling at the top of her lungs...

I guess that an 8" lizard would seem like an alligator to her...

He wasn't moving at all.. I reached down and touched him to see if he was still alive.  After all of the cold weather, I would not have been surprised if he weren't. His left front foot was just plain limp...

But he was alive... So, operation "save an alligator" came into being...

I went n the house and got the dust pan and cut one side off of a paper plate.  I scooped him up and made him move to the nice warm dirt out in the center of the yard.
A few minutes after I put him out in the sun, he perked up and as you can see, he is using the limp foot to move.  Happy ending... And Tessie is saved!
I bought this birdcage at Goodwill this morning.  It is debatable as to its new use.  Tessie wants a gazebo for the back patio and Zar is thinking that it would be an asset, if added to the Steampunk Emporium when it is built.

Maybe Tessie will get her way until Zar gets his emporium.  We shall see.
I finished the two tables this morning also.

So plant lifting shall ensue as soon as I finish here.

I forgot to mention that I got two  white wooden candlesticks, one of which is holding up the cage, at Goodwill also this morning.

I am on a mission to get the back patio looking like a place that we would want to spend time.  It definitely needs a do over.  Wish me luck.

See you tomorrow.

oh how well I know that ambition - we've a so called conservatory (a wooden lean-to) which keeps being used by both of us as a wood cutting, wiring anything workplace and it would be such a good and inviting place to sit out in if I could keep it 'straight'
I love the table finish you've achieved and the candlestick next to it with the cage (and occupants) looks just lovely together with the table in the sun
I always enjoy your articles and admire your work - keep it coming ;)

Hi Casey! I love how the table turned out. That little cage is so cute. You were at Goodwill just at the right time to pick up those nice pieces! Sometimes we can be so lucky at Goodwill! Look forward to seeing who wins the cage! I think I know. lol!

Casey, I forgot to mention how kind I think you were to revive that poor lizard. Also, very brave. I am not brave around such creatures. I suppose living in the desert, you are used to them. Casey, I wish I was in the desert today. lol! It's -32 with the windshield here in Ottawa and will keep going up all day up to -37 overnight. I am not going out there.

Lucille, we have a very small back yard, but we are far enough out of town to have a lot of wildlife for neighbors. I feed the birds and squirrels, but the lizards have to fend for themselves. I am not supplying live bugs for them! I do like having them around. We have several types of lizards around. That was one that I hadn't seen before. I am going to have to do a search for him on the net.
