Dirty-ing It Up....

All I have left to do is dirty the outer walls up a bit.

I have them painted, but they have no shading yet.

Spike is standing watch until I get to that part.  I should just put a paint brush in his mouth and tell him to go at it.  He would probably do a better job than I would.

I finally got Tessie to do some of the hanging up of aprons.  It took long enough to talk her into it.

If truth be told, I did most of it.  She jumped in at the last minute for the photo op.

Zar refused to do any more aft he hung up three or four aprons.  So I was left to do most of it.

I still need to find a mirror to hang on the wall.  I still haven't found the box that I have a LOT of mirrors in.  It is somewhere in the work room.

This morning I had a doctor's appointment and then we went to see "Ocean's Eight".  Pretty good. Fun movie.

Anyway, tomorrow it's back to the workroom. I cheated on Sunday and only worked half a day.  Bad Casey.

Oh well. Tomorrow is another day.  See you then.

First You Make the Cat Comfortable...

I know what is most important... Before I even started cleaning, I made Kota a bed on the stool next to the window.  That didn't take any time at all...

It was what came after that, that still isn't even close to finished...This is what is left of the bottom of the basket. 

Tessie and Zar, took one look at what I was going to do and left. They wanted NOTHING to do with the rest of the plan. 

I swear that every time I put something away it jumped out of whatever drawer I put it in and landed on the floor somewhere...

 I did find a home for my magnifying lamp. It is now where it will help me see what I am sawing when not being used elsewhere. I don't use the magnifier.  I just use the lamp part.  I used to shove it in the closet, but now I will be able to saw things with ease.

Tessie stuck her nose in a couple of times.  She is now the proud owner of a new bra... She will never wear it, but she can say, "I have my very own bra!" now.

She also found a couple of purses and a pair of high button shoes.

As for me, I found the forms for making new hands and feet. I build them on these things and then put them in the oven.

Maybe Tessie and Zar will both get some new extremities.

They could really use some.  Both of them are on their last legs... Literally!

Anyway, I am quiting for the day.  I need to do something else.  Finding a place to put each and every thing that I pick up is making me tired.  I want to relax for a while.

No more stuffing things in drawers.

New Rules!

This morning Tessie got up. She made toast and coffee.  I could hear her banging around the cottage. 

I kept wondering what she was up to... After all, it was only 4:25AM. 

She usually sleeps until at least 8:00AM.

I immediately thought that she was up to no good...

As I approached the cottage, she disappeared.

I went searching for her and next I found her and Spike sitting on the top of her new dressing room...

She started with, "Why is my dressing room not finished? I ordered it a week ago and you have NOT been working on it for a couple of days now."

With that, she disappeared once again...

So I went looking again.  This time she was on the front porch of the potting shed.

She seemed to be inspecting the soon to be grapes.

This time, she started with, "This potting shed is a mess and you haven't done a thing to it for a couple of weeks now."

I couldn't argue with that. I have been trying to avoid it for at least that long. I have been working on my workroom.

Her parting shot was, "I am not a happy camper!"

I couldn't help it. I started laughing.... Not a good thing when Tessie is mad.

I came in here and started writing everything down that she was saying...

She's right.  I have been taking a vacation from working for her. 

She came in and heaved a heavy sigh and sat down on the tape dispenser. 

 Would you believe that I apologized? Actually I did.  She is right. I have been doing everything that I can to get out of working for her... It doesn't do any good.  She is very hard to live with when she is in one of these moods. And she is right. When I go off on my own, she just turns into an old grouch.  Tomorrow I am going to start doing things her way for a while.  We shall see if that makes a difference. 

It probably won't. She will probably just become more demanding.  You did notice that I just said "for a while".  Back to work on her dressing room. Bright and early tomorrow.  See you then.

Tessie Approves...

She still wants to OK each step as we go along, but, "So far, So good....

We shall see how long this lasts.

I did some VERY rough sketches this afternoon...

We went out to look for a new Mexican Restaurant this morning.  We wound up down on Fourth Ave., where our Micha's was.

Gayle! You will be happy to know that we found an old one that Walter and a friend used to go to. It was very good. So we are set for when you get here. Not quite the same as Micha's but still very good.

 Anyway, back to the dressing room.  I messed around with the layout a little.  Again, Tessie approves, (so far)...

I think that the thing that sold her on the whole thing was the pink fuzzy rug that she is wiggling her toes in. 

I can't seem to get her out of there to work on the room.  I may have to set up a place that she can just wrap herself up in the new carpet and wiggle her toes whilst I am doing the beginnings of walls, closet space and furniture. The reason that she likes it is, it's velvet(and pink).  She wants a very girly room this time.  Very unusual for Tessie!

Anyway, we are getting started.  I am going back and work a bit more now.

Pretty and Not So Pretty....

I saw this on sale at Walmart yesterday morning. I had to ask someone in the garden department what was wrong with it.  My friend that works there said that there was nothing wrong with most of the plants that are put on sale.  They just need the room for new ones every week.  Hey! I know which section I will be shopping in from now on.  This plant was only $5.00! It sure brightens up the patio!

 I also got some ferns for a lot less than normal too.  Not a great photo, but I am trying to get the area to look like it is more wild than planted. Not too bad.

Yes.  I did start working on Tessie's dressing room this afternoon too.  I did the first step to close in the door and window.

We decided that the dressing room will be part of the castle room boxes.  I decided that the door is on the wall that we are standing in front of.  That will give Tessie more room for shelves and hanging aprons.

The outside will have to be limestone block, like the music room and her bedroom. 

I think that she has given up on taking over the fairy tale castle.  So.... She is working on me to help her have one of her own. 

Here we go again. 

The interior of this room is going to be mostly off white, with a pink rug.  She wants something on the floor that she can wiggle her toes in.

Plans Change...

Usually at 3:00AM.  Tessie woke me up in the middle of the night and pushed the I Pad under my nose.

She immediately started babbling about a dressing room.... Scratch the 60s living room.

I do believe that this is the photo that started it all. She loved the fact that some of the shoes in this photo could make her 6" tall(in her world). 

Of course I will have to talk her out of them.  She would break her neck the first time she put them on and tried to walk...

She says that a room like this would make it so that she could see all of her wearing apparel and
she could change her clothes every day.  Not just once every so often like she does now.

She has gone into great detail about what she wants in the room.

She liked this arrangement, but then I suggested a kidney shaped dressing table and she was off and running... Very fast!!!

She liked the kidney shape, skirted dressing table.

Then she disappeared again...

She started this time with, "I want it in 
Mac Kinzie-Childs style.  Then she stuck the catalog under my nose.

Needless to say, the 60's living room is a thing of the past...

She is drawing up plans as we speak.  She grabbed one of my small notebooks and started making lists. 

Here we go again. It's just a good thing that I didn't really get started on the living room.

I am going back to make some adjustments in her drawings.  Here we go again... Another merry chase.  See you tomorrow.
