Tessie is still dragging the corner box around to keep away from the rest of the tribe. So far she is keeping ahead in the game...
Last seen on the dining room table...
By the time I got back with another box, she had vacated the space... I am not going to keep following her around to keep track of her whereabouts...
I dug around and found this box. It is one of the first ones I made back in the early eighties...
No comments on the purple velvet please...
Hey! Kota likes it...
What I wanted to show you is the floor on this one.
You can make these boxes any size that you want. This one has a floor that is a cut piece of acoustical ceiling tile.
At the time, we were able to order the bent Plexi glass in whatever size was needed. I don't know of anybody that does this anymore.
The point is, you can make them any size that you like.
This is one that I just made a couple of years ago. I had the bent Plexi left over from the eighties and didn't know what to do with it. When I saw the tile, I knew.
The floor in this one is a green marble floor tile. It works quite well as an elegant floor and there are many tiles to choose from.
I just thought that you might like a few examples of what you can do with a piece of tile and some foam core board.
It is good to have a heavier bottom piece. Thus the ceiling tile or floor tile. That makes it steady and movable...
Back to hunting Tessie.
See you tomorrow.
Don't forget to poke the photos to enlarge!

And the Fight Goes On...
I tried really hard to ignore the Terrible Two today. I went to Walmart.
When I got home, I knitted for a while...
Then I made myself a new traveling basket for beadwork.
I think that this one is going to work out well. There is enough room to carry everything and a nice area underneath to do the work on.
As for the Terrible Two...
I have been ignoring them all day long. Tessie keeps zapping the corner box from one location to the next. Zar proceeds to follow her, hoping that she will vacate the property...
It's not happening. She is holding tight to the box... Why? She has a lot of other places to go that are a lot nicer...
I think that it is a matter of "I saw it first and it's mine!!!"
I caught this photo on the kitchen counter, in front of the coffee pot... I think that she is running out of spaces to move...
I am just going to stay out of the way and let them settle it.
Back to business...
See you tomorrow.

Give Her an Inch...
And she takes a whole box!
First of all, I made the glass look old and wavy by putting a coat of clear nail polish on both sides... Zar approved.
I noticed that I have to stick a couple of places on the string back down. I will do that as soon as I finish this.
I no more than got the bookcase glued in place and Tessie was already filling it with pottery.
At least she has good taste. I will probably rearrange a bit and put some books in place to fill the space.
That's if I can get to it before Tessie does. It seems that, as usual, she has already claimed it...
When I asked her, "Who said that this was yours?". She answered with, "I said!". Here we go again.
I guess that I will just wait until she tires of it and looks for something else to claim.
I let her go and she proceeded to claim it even more.
We now have a chair and footstool involved in the argument. And another piece of pottery!
I have a feeling that Zar is waiting in line. If she pops out for any more stuff, he will pop in and claim it...
Oops! I forgot! I have the advantage! I am bigger than both of them put together. I can carry them to another spot by the scruff of their little necks and then I can do what I want with said box! Now. What do I want to do...???
I will have to think on that for a while.
I still have a lot of foam core and tiles left. Maybe I will just make more.
They would be good for a single doll display too.
I am off to get ready to go to Wednesday Witches...
See you tomorrow with more of the instructions. Next, the bookcase.

Look Before You Leap!
I rounded off the corners and used spackle for the walls. It came out pretty good and now I am debating if I should paint it or not. I kind of like the finish, as is.
See the window? I should have thought of that before I put the walls together!
It was a bit of a job getting it cut out. Then I had to decide how to do the trim.
It would have been a lot easier on a flat wall, not attached to the other one and the base.
I did get it done, but it's not the prettiest window that I have ever made. I just wanted to see if it could be done with string. It can.
That's what I get for not thinking ahead.
I traced the inside of the window on a sheet of hard plastic.
Then I went and dug up some string from Walmart. It is #20 bamboo cord, sold in the jewelry making section, if you are interested.
I didn't really measure anything. I just did it on the fly. You know. Hold up the string next to the window and cut a chunk off. It worked! I did the string inside and out. Carefully matching the places that I put the string, so that it didn't peek out on the other side of the glass.
I now have all of the pieces cut for the walls of the kit and all of the pieces for the outside of the bookcase that I am going to put on the wall.
I will give measurements and directions when I start the actual building of the furniture.
Wish me luck. Here I go again. Flying by the seat of my pants. See you tomorrow.

Witchcraft
I'm just getting started...
I am making a prototype for a kit for the Wednesday Witches.
Last week, one of the witches asked if I would explain cutting molding(the ins and out of the corners).
I figured that this would be a good way to do it.
I happened to have a bunch of 3 3/4" tiles and some foam core.
Then Joan offered to share the wood that her husband had purchased from a store going out of business.
I have all of the supplies, so why not?
I lucked out. Some of the strip wood that I picked out just happened to be stair step wood...
It has a rolled edge on one side!
It is also just a bit narrower than the other strip wood that I got.
It is perfect for bookshelves. The gang won't have to finish the front edges at all!
I did have to move the window over a bit, but other than that, it is coming along fine.
I cut the first wall the exact width of the tile and 8" long. The second wall is the width of the wall plus the width of the foam core, so that one overlaps the other at the back corner.
I used the extra tile to hold the pieces together until they dried.
Feel free to make one of your own by following along!
Now on to the Spackle or Gesso for the wall finish. Back to work.
See you tomorrow.
