Dakota...

No.  We're not moving... Some crazy person named this guy "Dakota"!

I am trying to think of how to change the name and get him to answer to something else.  He does respond to "Here kitty".
I had to guard the box that he was in all the way home.  Walter was in the front seat driving while I was struggling with a 13 1/2 pound cat that broke the box even before we got him all the way in the car...He didn't seem to mind me hugging him.  That's how we got him home.

He also doesn't seem to be at all afraid.  He is eating just fine...

We gave him the master suite.  Bedroom and bath.  No closet...

He seems to like the bathroom.  Wanted to know why someone closed the lid on the toilet so that he couldn't use it...
Took a tour of Walter's side of the cabinets.

Please notice... He is left pawed.
Anyway, this is Dakota.  He will shortly be ruling the Rice household... He has a good start!

See you tomorrow.

Oh how beautiful, so regal!

Congratulations on the new kitty. I'm sure you'll find a perfect name for him soon (and that he'll let you know if it's not one he likes ;-) )

We already shortened the name to Kota. It has a number of different meanings in different languages. It was interesting finding out what it means. It is a whole tribe in India. A whole town in Ethiopia. In Scottish it is a coat, coat of arms and other coat words. There is even a General Kota in the Star Wars series. That's according to the Wookipidia!LOL

He definitely looks like he's in charge, and that he is a general getting the lay of the land! He's a beautiful guy, and I love the way he looks right into the camera. Do you know any of his history?

Hi Casey. Ah, a new cat to wander in and out of your photographs!
Is he curious about your miniatures yet? Enjoy his time with you, however short or long that may be.

Congratulations! You know, I saw his forehead patterning and thought the white shape looked like an awesome star. Now you say he also is a General in Star Wars? That seals the deal hehehehehehe. I hope Tessie sees him as an equal, at least.
