Two Steps Forward...

OK.  Your caught me.  Not mini steps.

Yesterday, when the mail came, I had 10 spools of my favorite beading thread in a very nice assortment of colors... So naturally, I had to try it to see if after a year of not having any Nymo size D, it was still my favorite beading thread... It was.

This is the cuff that I started.  Pretty simple peyote stitch.

This morning it was warmer than expected.  I went out to Walmart and Goodwill.

When I got home, I took a look outside to see if it was time to put the plants back on the patio...

Yes.  It was.  However.... The tables that they normally sit on are in sad shape.  They are really indoor tables.

I decided to turn them from this...
To This.  I am not finished yet.  It is still cold, so I quit after staining one.  After I stain them, I will have to put some polyurethane on them.  We may have the plants in the house for a few more days...

At least the tables will look decent when I put the plants back.

We aren't going to discuss the finish on the swing.  It should have been done a couple of years ago.  It can wait though.  No plants to sit on that.  Only people.

Of course, I didn't change clothes before starting the process... I think that the stain is coming out of my favorite turquoise shirt with a little bit of help from some Shout and some scrubbing...
When will I learn?  I have been doing this kind of thing in good clothes for over 30 years...

I am now going to do a load of laundry to see if I can get the RED MAHOGANY stain out of my shirt.

Then I will stain the other table wearing something suitable for the job... Maybe a Hazmat suit?

See you tomorrow.

Hi Casey. Nice table. It looks very "southwest".
I too am guilty of painting in good clothes. If all else fails, go to your favorite store with art supplies and purchase a bar of
"The Masters" soap. It gets out all kinds of stains including old dried paint from hands and clothes. Try it. I keep a portion of a bar in my laundry room.

Thanks for the tip, Phyllisa, but the Shout got it out!

Red Mahogany? I love that color!

Here's hoping you can get it out of the clothes, though.

I love to work in a nightgown with an apron on top. It feels real comfy!

Mari, it all came out. The key is getting it before it dries. It is like new!
