I am glad that I got some photos of my favorite cactus yesterday... Last night there was a big storm... This morning Mr. Burbank was no more!
I am going to start over from scratch. Luckily, these cacti grow from pieces stuck in the ground.
It is just sad that the wind got it after 20 years!
Back to the basket that I started yesterday.
I had a limited amount of wire attached to the disc, so I couldn't make it very big.
I went up four rows.
Then by bending the wire and covering each bump with 14 wraps, I made a row of scallops. I fastened each one down with two wraps into the row below.
Then to finish it off, I did a straight row. I wrapped each section with nine wraps and then fastened it to the top of each scallop with two wraps.
Now that I know that this kind of bottom works, I will try something a little more serious.
Kota is trying very hard to ignore me at present.
I think that his nose is out of joint because I can't pet him when I am weaving...
The dining set will be delivered this afternoon.
Until then, I am doing nothing... Well maybe I will go pet the kitty. Other than that, nothing.
See you tomorrow.

I feel for Mr Burbank--and the squirrels!
And I really like the look of that basket--very tempted to make it, in fact.
Thank you, Casey!
Thanks Aztec Lady. The squirrels won't miss it. It was the birds that got the free lunches.G
Well, rats--I meant to type birds.
It's okay, I can laugh at myself. :-P
(I'm having a Monday)
So sorry for Mr Burbank's demise! Nature can be tough :-(
