I decided that I need to keep going, even if it isn't bricks. So...I started doing the walls in the kitchen. I told you that I had all of that 1/2" scale bead board. I decided to do it the old fashioned way. I remember that my grandma Daisy's kitchen had bead board like that. Somehow that made the kitchen more cozy than the chair height that we use today.
I got out some Golden Pecan stain and, with Tessie's help, went to work. I cut the pieces and Tessie stained. It was somewhat quicker that way, but a lot messier. There was stain everywhere. Thank goodness for Clorox Wipes!
I glued the pieces into the kitchen. and then did the trim, one piece at a time....That takes a while. I still have some to go, but I am mostly done. So far, it's kind of boring.
I am not sure that I like the floor. I didn't have enough of the border to go all of the way around. I will have to think about that.
I did a little repair work here and there on the outside of the house.
Tessie found a very large golf club and a sword in the swizzle sticks. She is using them to encourage me to keep going. If I stop she takes a swing with one or the other at my head.
This could get dangerous. I think that my next chore will be to hide the box of swizzle sticks. I am tired of the whooshing noise from the club swinging past my left ear. She is getting closer all of the time.
Anyway, I am on a roll. Back to work.
See you tomorrow.

That golden pecan colour looks really nice and the bead board looks great. I like it when it's high like that. It has that old-fashioned look I love. Don't you just love it when you're on a roll?
Looking good! Hope your kitchen gets finished faster than mine. It's taking me forever! LOL
Who IS Lucille? I wish she had a blog! :D
Have you figured out why Tessie has all of sudden decided to be so helpful? LOL =)
Great Job! Keep going! Don't stop! LOL! Hugs, Morena
