I've always wanted to go, but being in the Midwest, I've just gone to the Bead and Button Show in Milwaukee -- which is great, of course, but definitely smaller. And there are no cacti, which is a disappointment.

(Also, there is no Bookmans in Milwaukee. I miss Bookmans!)

I wonder if the stuff you use is Superlon or Toho One G? Those are two Nymo-ish types of thread that my beady mentor, Karen Williams, swears by. I haven't tried either of these. Beyond Beadery, my favorite place, sells One G, though. I might try it if I get tired of black Fireline stuff under my nails. ;)

Sarah Sequinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08221653054315631804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-470571765534816029.post-56197303609941913962014-10-28T16:43:52.537-07:002014-10-28T16:43:52.537-07:00Sarah, yes I have tried fireline. It's not Nymo. Similar, but stronger. I am going to gave to see if I can find the same dealer this year....out of the hundreds of dealers that hit Tucson every January... It's great having the world's largest gem and mineral show + beads every year, but try finding the same thing twice in all of the madness!Caseyminihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16622994881661283282noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-470571765534816029.post-73819391396791381862014-10-28T15:45:04.364-07:002014-10-28T15:45:04.364-07:00Casey, have you ever tried Fireline for beading? I...Casey, have you ever tried Fireline for beading? I switched to it from Nymo a few years back, and it's great for those sharp little hex beads. I use the 8 lb test for freeform peyote beadweaving and for bead embroidery.

I like the needle case so far! I have a tiny wooden coffin for my broken needles and an Altoids tin for the good ones -- which is nowhere near as pretty.

-- Sarah the crazy bead and doll lady.
