A Celebration is in order!!!!!!

This morning, I have a new outlook on life...

We got a call from Dr. Roeder yesterday afternoon about 4:00 PM.  She sounded like she was doing a happy dance... That's hard to convey over the phone, but she did it!

She couldn't wait to tell me that there is no cancer left after the surgery.  I still have to get healed up from said surgery, but no cancer left!!!!

I will also have to do the radiation treatments, but those are short and painless.

This morning Walter went to play golf.  And I spent the morning celebrating in my own way...

First made fudge... for me.  Then I made Chocolate Chip Cookies for Walter...

As you can see, by the time that I get back to the kitchen, there will be very little left...

Even Kota is celebrating...

Other people have told me that they have cats that do this, but he is the only one that we have ever had that drinks milk this way.

He is left handed(pawed).  He dips his paw in the bowl and licks the milk off.  It takes him a while, but he refuses to drink it like normal cats do.

What's weird is, he drinks his water the regular way...

This ceremony is reserved for milk only.

It's hard to see, but his left paw is next to his nose in this photo.

Anyway.  I did not get any mini-ing done this morning.  I was too busy celebrating!!!

Maybe I will go work on the Russian rug for a while now.

See you tomorrow!

  4. Hi Casey, Oh Happy Dance!! Congratulations! Great way to celebrate. I love baking, the smells, memories and then eating. Congratulations.
I had a cat drink like that too, so sweet, with small dishes I guess it is hard for the whiskers to tell what height the liquid is, at least that's my theory, LOL. So happy for you.

  11. I am so very happy Casey! Enjoy your fudge, you deserve it! You are such a brave lady! My daughter has three cats and one cannot drink. She has to spoon feed him his water. She's tried everything, even a drinking fountain for cats. Nothing works except the spoon feeding! Have fun with your rug or whatever, Casey. Have you discovered the adult colouring books yet? They are very relaxing when you just need to unwind or just relax and not think about anything.

  14. That is wonderful news Casey!! Do the happy dance and eat the fudge. You deserve it.

My old cat drank her water that way. She would always be sticking her paw in the glass of water I set beside my chair and I wouldn't notice so I would drink from the glass. Yuck.

  21. Why do some cats drink from their paws?

It is because they had to use their paws to help get the milk out as kittens so the milk often got on their paws and then they licked it off of them. So it is a natural association that some cats simply never forget.
